Donna E. Cero, age 73 of Corning, NY passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Corning Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

Born on August 7, 1947 in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Genevieve (Lando) Wurth. Dona was a graduate of East High School, class of 1966. She married Roman Cero on July 6, 1990. She worked in various positions for Corning, Inc. retiring in 2013 as a machine operator with 40 years of service.

Dona was a member of the Corning Moose Lodge 274 ladies Auxiliary. She and Roman enjoyed traveling to their home in North Carolina every winter. In her free time Dona was an avid reader. Her family will remember her most as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Dona is survived by her husband, Roman Cero of Corning, NY; son, James Closkey of Savona, NY; stepson: Kevin (Sheila) Cero of Concord, NC; grandson: Mitchell Closkey of Savona, NY; step-granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Cero of Alabama; sister, Diane (Samuel) Miller of Troy, OH; brothers: James Wurth of Corning, NY, Robert (Lisa) Wurth of Wayne, NY; special friend, Arlene Closkey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Dona was predeceased by her brother, John Wurth.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
